Walls’ Words
"Walls’ Words" is a research documentary photography project that captures words and slogans found on public surfaces—walls, bridges, bar posts, trees, and other urban spaces where people leave their messages.
Walls divide spaces, assigning them distinct purposes. Yet, they also serve as canvases where countless individuals and groups express themselves. In busy cities, walls are often covered in words, shapes, and messages. Some are personal or represent small groups, while others convey extreme or controversial ideas—political or social—outside the realm of mainstream media. "Walls’ Words" documents these public expressions , regardless of the opinion they convey, recognizing that while they are frequently erased, new words always take their place.
This research project aims to reflect the full spectrum of messages found on urban walls without censorship, ensuring its research value remains intact. The photographer does not endorse or promote any specific ideas but instead documents what appears in the streets during the course of the project. The words captured will likely reflect the dominant ideas circulating in the locations where the photos are taken.
To enhance the diversity and accuracy of the project, sponsorships from research centers or institutions are welcomed, allowing for broader geographic coverage and a richer dataset.
While the project's aim is neutrality, the images displayed here avoid showcasing extreme messages to prevent misinterpretation or misuse. The focus remains on maintaining a research-based, objective approach. Financial and academic collaborations are welcomed to support the project while upholding scientific integrity and neutrality.
All images in this project are editorial in nature and do not promote any particular viewpoint.
I warmly invite sponsors and researchers to support this documentary photography project, as their contributions will help expand its reach and enhance the diversity of the captured messages across different cities.
I also welcome collaboration opportunities. If you need a reportage-style documentary project for a specific location, don’t hesitate to reach out.
